    new tub thoughts
so I had my pastel in a larger (like 35qt) tub when I got him 2 weeks ago and after some guidance wanted to size him down to something a bit more secure for him, so I got him a 16qt tub (18.0 x 12.6 x 7). I hooked everything up and put him and he seems to take well to it. I know balls feel secure in smaller spaces, but it seems like he really has nowhere to go. I thought I would ask for some advice here and shot a pic of him eating his first F/T meal.

Also, I bought a bag of frozen small rats and they seem very large for him. The store didn't have anything smaller (other than small fuzzies). It took a bit of playing with it in front of him but he finally took it after a bit and took it down. He has eaten 3 hoppers and this was his first F/T rat, but is this too big? The width was fine but I felt like it was pretty long. Just thought I would ask... Thanks!

If the width is fine and he got it down no problem then he's probably fine, just give him time to digest wait at least 7 days between feedings. I got my female pin in a 16qt she's 500 grams around 2 ft and eating weaned rats 30-44 grams each, and she could probably take small rats, but weaned are cheaper and are a good solid meal for her. She'll get small rats when I buy more feeders (i buy in bulk every 3 months) Also I plan on upgrading her too a 32 or 28 qt tub in December when I build another rack that will hold 4 or 5 32 or 28 qt tubs and 6 16 qt tubs. This is just what I'm doing based on my limited experience hope this helps good luck.

Tub looks fine to me and that is a big rat for a little snake lol i'd feed smaller but if he's eating fine and not regurging I guess you can keep feeding that I'd wait 7 to 10 days between meals tho he needs lots of time to digest that
