Introducing the male, and hides
I have read many threads about introducing the males to the females and how to go about doing so. It seems that many of the people that use tubs don't have hides, so I was wondering... If the female is in an enclosure with two hides (one at the cool and one at the warm end), do you remove any of the hides before placing the male in her enclosure?
My adult female (approx. 2000 grams) is always in one hide or the other. Do I just place the male in with her when she is in one of the hides, or do I remove them so she knows what to expect? Do I remove her from the hide, but leave the hides in the enclosure and introduce the male at that same time?
Any help is welcome, we had a fantastic storm come through yesterday and I wanted to introduce them, but I didn't know what to do.
