Moving tomorrow but need advice about moving my BP

I'm moving tomorrow, but I'm not quite sure how I should move my big girl. I'm living in Wisconsin and will be in the car almost 2 hours so temperature is a concern. Keeping her cage plugged in is not really an option because of room.

I'm thinking about putting her into a container for transport and using a heating pad set on low/medium under her with a towel between her and the heating pad. I fully understand how dangerous the use of a heating pad can be, and would normally never even consider the use of one, but as it will be around 55 tomorrow I'm not sure what other options I have.

Would this method be ok, or does someone have another suggestion.

She should be fine for 2 hours without the heat pad as long as you keep the heat in your car on :gj:

I don't know what the air temps are like in your area but if they are similar to where I am north if you I'd make sure there is no air holes during the time outside, just pop the lid once in the car and during the car trip then button it up again during the transfers it will keep the lungs warm and reduce the potential for respiratory issues.

The container I have is one that I've used with her before, so it does have air holes. Will just wrapping it in a towel and making sure the heat is on in my car?

The last thing I want is for her to have to deal with some respiratory issues

I usually but them in tubberware or pillow cases i live pretty far away from the expos so every time I get a new addition it has to be in the car for a couple of hours w/o heat they're always fine.

I traveled for 3 days (from Utah to Texas) with my collection, and they all pulled through fine. I had them each in pillowcases, in smallish boxes that were placed in an area of the car that wasn't too warm.

I traveled 5 days from Oregon to Arizona with a Iguana.

Do the best you can to keep warm air in and cold air out and you should be fine.

Perhaps put a few blankets in a HOT dryer and pad the enclosure with them just before you leave. Also styrofoam board is real cheep at the hardware store. Making extra walls around your enclosure with that would help hold in heat as well.

I drive 3 hours one way to visit my kids and grand kids and bring my BP with me. Dryer hot blankets should work great for just 2 hours.
