    accurite placement and probe placement
Got two new adults at the tinley park show. A male pied and a het female pied. Didn't have anything to put them in so we got our first rack and a herpstat nd thermostat.

I got the accurites from Walmart for the tubs and just wondered where they should be placed. The tubs are 34 sterilize latch tops and the rack is heated via back heat flex watt.

Thermometer probe goes inside the tub over the hot spot (use hot glue) and thermostat probe goes directly on the heat source (flexwatt in your case).

Re: accurite placement and probe placement
Ya I got the t stat probe on the flexwatt. I was just trying to figure out does the accurite go up front then the probe towards the back since the flexwatt runs down the back?

It doesn't matter where the unit is as long as the probe is over the hot spot. If you want a "cool spot" reading put it up front. I don't really worry about the cool side temps as much in racks, since it's just such limited space.

The hot spot would be the back of the tub though right? Because its closest to the back of the rack

Yes, the hottest point in the tub is the hot spot.
