    How long...?
I'm just curious. If your snakes have a good solid lock does the time they are locked up matter? My fire pair were locked up this morning but only for about an hour but it was a good solid lock. Will these short locks get the job done or do they have to be locked up longer? This is the forth time he has locked with her in the past month and the other times were for extended periods of time so I'm not worried. Just curious if there is any correlation between lock time (if it is a solid lock) and getting the deed done.

Locks can be more than 24 hours or for a short period of time. I've had clutches from both. I've even had clutches that I never actually saw a lock (I check twice a day - morning and evening).

Be sure to disturb them as little as possible during a lock. You don't want the male pulling out prematurely.

My Pied male would lock up with a hot dog if I threw it in with him!

Perfect. Thanks Don. I dont mess with them at all when they are locked up. I wanted to take some pics but I'm just glad to be getting so many locks so I'm not tempting fate. Thanks again, thats exactly what I was wondering.

I havnt really cooled at all. My hotspot is at 90 and the ambient room temp is at79 and they are going at it like jack rabbits and my males are still eating. I'm never cooling again.
