    Feeding Sick Rats to BP's
I have a small colony of rats in a climate control storage unit. Lately they have been acting weird, head tilting and running in circles. Two of them have died so far. It was brought to my attention that moth balls were being used in the area and that is linked to virtigo. I am wondering if it would be alright to feed these animals to my BP's? I assume nothing is wrong but I wanted to make sure nothing will affect the snakes.

On a side note, once they are showing these symptoms is it too late for them to recover if moved to another area?

    Thanks.

It is safe to feed them as long as they have not been physically exposed to the moth balls.

I agree, it sounds like an inner ear infection. If that's all it is and they weren't exposed to anything toxic then its safe to feed them to your snakes.

Thanks guys, but you're not answering my questions.

They are breathing in the fumes from the moth balls, not physically exposed to them. Would this still be alright?

And still, would they be able to recover if moved to a different area?

Considering the fact that humans have been using moth balls inside homes for years, the rats would be safe to feed to your snakes. They will not recover from the inner ear infection by simply being moved to a different area.
