Question about pairing Ball Pythons for the first time

Ok, this is my first attempt at breeding. Been doing all my research, but I am still a bit unsure. My female is around 3 to 4 years old, and when I weighed her last week she was sitting around 1480 grams. And is pounding down the rats. She seems to have gotten cranky/fiesty since the last cold front. Now anytime I walk by the tank she sticks her head out, and if I move any she slowly comes out of her hide in the S position. She has never struck at the tank at me, but she does seem to be fiesty. She normally grabs the rats before they hit the floor. Here is my concern. With her being so fiesty, is there a chance that she will strike and coil around the male when I put him in the tank with her? What is the best way to introduce the male into her tank?

Hey, she can just be going through a feeding frenzy period. Females do this before ovulation period. Keep feeding her regularly. I also have a female that does the same thing. The way I do it is I remove both snakes from their tubs. Clean the female's tub and place them both in there together. Never had a female strike at a male this way before. If they lock, just wait til they unlock and remove the male. If you did not witness a lock, keep him him there for 3 days. If you're worried about your male's safety I guess the best advice I can give is to keep an eye on them for the first hour or so. That is when she will most likely strike if she does. After that, I think they will be just fine. Goodluck :)

My big normal lady does this. She is a wicked killer and doesn't give a meal a chance to blink before its in her coils.
But they know the difference between their own kind and a mouse/rat.
In my exp. With the fiesty ladies, they watch you place him in and as soon as they see him slithering in her tank/tub she's gonna start scenting and slithering quickly IF SHE IS INTERESTED.

I've only had that happen once, where the female struck and coiled my male. Now when I introduce the male, I put him in the opposite end of tub.
