what to breed with a pastel?

I have a female pastel she is about 9 months old so I still have time. I am looking for a mate though, what should I look into for a male to get the biggest bang for my buck.

You can get a fire male for a fair price and make some beautiful firefly babies!

The better question is what can you NOT breed to a pastel. The pastel in my oppinion is the best morph ever produced by nature. It makes everything better. I dont think there is anything you cant breed a pastel to. Now with that said the question you need to answer next is how much money you want to spend on a male. Calicos are hot with pastels, fires are hot with them as well. Lemon blasts another good pickup. The combos are endless. My pastel girls every season are the hardest for me to decide on how im gonna breed them. This year im putting them in the mix for sterlings and silvers, pastel calicos, blast projects, and citrus stuff

I agree, fire males are pretty cheap and fire flys are still selling for a lot. :)

Its def. personal .. i would go butter or lesser all day, if you hit on the clutch with a pastel/lesser or a pastel/butter ... you will be a very happy camper.. or I would be at least. GL with whatever you pick!

What's you budget?

Given the number of morphs out there going anywhere from $75 to $60000 having an idea on YOUR budget would narrow it down.

I figured a 1000 would give me a good male to work with being they are normally cheaper then females

If it was me I would likely buy another female (Lesser) and buy a male Lemon Blast or Spinner

Ultimately YOU need to work with what YOU like.

It is all personal taste, with a $1000.00 budget.

That could get you another single gene female AND a single gene male OR a really nice two gene male;)

BHB has a couple really nice adult singles that would go nice with a pastel...........pin or spider het OG for less than half of what you are looking to spend.

Its all up to what you are wanting to make, I just used BHB because I happened to be looking at a couple snakes there right now.;)

Are you thinking about long time projects or something you can get right away? I would a fire, lesser, and a spider. Than after getting those double morphs, you can breed them together and you could produce white snakes from the fire or lesser, and produce some killer bees. A long time project, get a pied. Breed with the pastels, keep 1.1 pastels het and breed them together to produce pastel pieds or killer pieds.
