Radiant Heat Panels

Hey guys

I was thinking of the different ways to increase ambient temperatures in my enclosure, and I understand that besides bulbs, you can also use a radiant heat panel? Could anyone quickly run me through the pros and cons of using this? And more specifically over bulbs? The biggest problem people state about bulbs is that they get too hot (which is easily countered with a thermostat) and that they suck humidity.
As far as I understand, increasing ambient temperature in any way would decrease relative humidity the same way, so does that mean that using a radiant heat panel would more or less have the same problems as a bulb? I do need to increase ambient temperatures, so please dont mention that these should never be used, and about how they are bad, without an alternative.

Also, could you suggest some brands for radiant heat panels and where would be good to get them?

I use RHP's in all my tanks (IJ's, Corn, BRB and Leo's), they are really nice. They provide a nice, even heat...radiant heat, not just hot bulb heat. They don't kill humidity either, it stays nice and high for the BRB and 'normal' for everyone else.
I got mine from Bob at Pro-products and couldn't be happier with them. There is a good information/compare/faq on the site.

+1 to Pro Products. I've used one in the past for my bearded dragon and now I have one on the way for my new enclosure (from Constrictors Northwest) so that I have a more permanent place for my BP to live.

They are a tad pricey...but they are UL listed, low wattage, will like...never break, dont burn, and have like zero risk for any kind of malfunction/fire (made up of non flammable parts)

The pros...easily outweigh the cons. It's like if Mike Tyson fought a newborn.

So how do they work exactly... Same principle as a UTH? Stick it to one of the sides of the tank, and it'll heat the air all the way through?

They are boxy and have holes on the outside that will screw on to the top and you still need a thermostat. I use them along with flexwatt underneath.
