    zoo med mite off ...
Seen it today. The people at the store said it works pretty good...not as strong as other stuff out there so it takes a few treatments.. . On the bottle it say spray entire snake or lizard and land tortoise ..then spray entire enclosure ...wait 3 day before retreating if needed.
Anyone use it or any opinions about it. I know its not prob. As good as PAM but its. Right much cheaper. So I was thinking might be good for a regular maintenance or for a just in case
    treatment ...thanks

    Simply a waste of money.
Get a can of PAM and it will last for a long long time.
The bonus is it actually works.

Don't bother; most pet store mite treatments are crap. When I had my first mite infestation, I wasted six months trying out all the "best" pet store brands, during which time the mites had spread from my one quarantined snake to the rest of my collection.

Yeah, get some PAM for sure. However if your local stores don't carry it and you have to order, get some Mite Off in the meantime. It will at least keep it from getting much worse until the PAM comes in.

When I got my first ball python he came with a pretty bad mite infestation. The first thing i used was zoomeds mite off and it did absolutely nothing to get rid of them. Listen to these guys and get some pam. Until then try bathing in water to drowned some of the little buggers out. best of luck

PAM is needed to kill eggs and the critters moving around in the enclosure. But if they are all over ur snake, I like mite off cuz it can be used to kill the ones on ur snake. When I bought my first one I sprayed her cage and bedding, while that was drying and airing out I used the mite off on her entire body and some q-tips soaked in mite off to dab her face and heat pits. The critters in her heat pits died and were washed away with water. She was happy immediately and the mites were gone before the second treatment.

Actually, PAM doesn't kill the eggs (I don't think there are any products that do), so it is important that you use PAM every 30 days for several months in order to kill the babies the instant they hatch as well as dormant mites. And yes, Mite Off, Reptile Relief, etc are all good for killing mites on a snake (since you can't use PAM directly on an animal), but it's useless on its own and is not necessary, though it's nice for the snake.

Yeah my roommate went and bought Mite Off and even though I told him that it didn't help disinfect the tank or kill the eggs that would later emerge he didn't buy PAM.

He now has mites all over his snake again so it's like the Mite Off did nothing at all. No matter how much you bathe or spray your snakes with that stuff the tank and surroundings also have to be taken care of. If not you're just going to have the same problem over and over.
