what does it mean/indicate

My boa is salivating and seems to have mucous coming out of her nose. Also her bottom lip is somewhat swollen. I've already contacted the vet but she's not available until Thursday. So until then what can I do?
Is this a resperatory infection? If so what can I do to help her? I would post pics but she won't stay still enough for me to get a good one.
Any one out there with any info? I would appreciate it.

Not really possible to judge acurately withgout at least pics of the animal but it sounds like a respitory infection and possibly mouth rot.

I would get the vet to do a culture to make sure you get the right treatment the first time.

Are those the only symptons and how is it eating behaving?

That should give the Boa guys more to work with when they see your post.

Those are the only immediately noticeable symptoms unless you also count her opening her mouth but she only did that once since I posted this thread. Other than that, that's it.

How is either sickness treated?

Hi.

A sensitivity culture by the vet followed by a course of the most suitable anti-biotics based on the result. Though they usually prescribe some broad spectrum anti-biotics immediately while they wait for the results to come back.

if he thinks it might be caused by an underlying problem there may be more tests - but until he sees the snake he won't know if any of those are needed.

He will also likely ask if there have been any regurges or strange body positions lately and if this is a new snake or if you have added any new snakes to your collection lately.
