Restless Retic keeps messing up enclosure; advice needed
    Hi.

I have a 4 year old dwarfish retic who's constantly messing up her cage.

By messing up, I mean she'd crumple her newspaper substrate and push them into a pile somewhere in the corner of her tank, leaving her floor bare. Occasionally, she pushes them into the water dish; lots of fun cleaning up after that.

She displays this consistently; feeding her will quiet her down but she'll start doing this again after 2 - 3 days.

I asked a local herper and he told me that it must be the urge to breed that's causing her to go nuts.

Any ideas/suggestions on how I could minimize the the "mess up"?

PS: She has no visible spurs; does this automatically mean my retic's a female?

    Thanks

As far as I know, the only 100% accurate way to sex is through probing. I'm not very experienced, but I *THINK* males can have a lack of spurs.

BUT, my boa used to do the same (female). Then I decided to tape the paper down (that wasn't easy to clean up either). She didn't do it when the male was with her.
