Hey guys, I had a question for breeding down the road! I was thinking of looking for a butter male and a fire female when I hit the expo in November. That would give me one boy to my three girls. Granted I am going to be waiting awhile for these guys to hit sexual maturity, however, I had a quick question about the breeding process in general.

I read in another thread that males should have 3-4 days between "locks" and that you should keep locking with the same female until she ovulates. So my question is... how would you work multiple females in with the same male? Do you keep up with the same female till she ovulates and then move onto the next female? Do you alternate females? Do people even breed the same male to multiple females in one season or is that just unheard of?

Yes you can breed multiple females to one male . Start with one female, leave him with her for 3-4 days. Then give him a day or two off to rest or feed ect... Then place him with the next female and so on . Even if you don't see a lock with one of the females after his resting period move onto the next female. Just watch all the signs of OV. After one female OVs then you can stop paring them.
