    Mouth Rot
One of my snakes has mouth rot, and I was wondering how exactly to dilute betadine. It's a mild case, and I want to see if I can take care of it before visiting a vet. I keep hearing betadine is the best to use (over peroxide, and other over the counter solutions), but I don't know exactly how much betadine to use, and how much water. Also, what is the recommended amount of times I do this a week, or per day?

BTW, I was given the snake in this condition. So don't start yelling at me about poor conditions lol! And I'm aware that I SHOULD bring the snake to a vet, but like I said, I want to see if I can address the problem. Snake had RI which I believe is what started it, so now its just a matter of getting rid of this, and I believe it will recover just fine.

Actually I had one other question. He's seems to be drooling a lot, and I was wondering if this is normal with mouth rot. I'm assuming its his body trying to deal with the mouth rot, but this is a first time for me so idk.

Honestly I think you should see a vet. This is a far advanced case of mouth rot if that's the issue. Antibiotics may be needed. Better to be safe than sorry in this case.

No not all the time, and its not excessive. I noticed the drool today actually. The swelling has gone down tremendously since I started treating it with peroxide. I've been told by multiple breeders that it can be treated at home 75% of the time. And both of my cars just got wrecked by deer, and I don't have money right now for a vet bill.

Just checked on him and the drool is gone. Maybe he was just drinking prior to me writing this? I scraped the pus pocket out, and used the betadine method. He looks SO much better. His mouth is shutting much better now. Do you guys know how often I should be applying the betadine?
