Ok I am a bit fussy with terms sterilize and disinfectant are not the same if you truly mean sterilize (NO bacteria, germs or virus) it take very expensive and complex gear to do so. (autoclave)
Disinfectants can be quite varied, a grab bag of chemical treatments chlorhexidine, iodine, alcohols, sodium hypochlorite (chlorine bleach) quandary ammonia compounds (F10) and hydrogen peroxide.
Chlorhexidine, and quantry ammonia compounds pose no massive heath issues and can be used with out worry for the most part.
Alcohol once evaporated also poses no health issues.
Bleach and iodine MUST be well washed off before the animal is returned to the enclosure. No trace can remain as they are both quite toxic to reptiles.
Steam can also be used and it also is safe once the enclosure is cooled down be careful around glass however.
To my the best of my knowledge healthy habitat is a enzyme cleaner and is NOT a sterilant at all.
There are 2 things all of the above have in common.
The enclosure must be clean before using any of the sterilants.
They all need at the very least 20 min contact time to be effective!
There is no magic cleaner that you can spray on wipe off and have it be effective, everything must be washed with soap and water rinsed off and then treated and given time to work and then if necessary rinsed off again until no trace remains.
Run buy the Pro Exotics team. It's very affordable, as a $16 container makes fifty 34-oz spray bottles of disinfectant.
