Practice will make perfect pastels some day
She is around 700 grams and decided last week and this week that she only wanted to hiss at her rat. Yesterday I found her like this. Silly girl, not big enough yet:P

    WOWZERS! She is gorgeous!

I just got my first BP Sunday at an expo. A female Pastel. I can't wait for her to get as big as yours...that is soooo freakin pretty!

Mines only a whopping 68 grams!

Thanks. I got really lucky with her. I had no idea what I was doing when I bought her. Here is her as a baby (around 60 grams).

And one of her future stud muffin. He is a pretty average pastel.

    Nice!

You know...your girl and my girl are about the same size in their "baby pictures" but mine doesnt have areas of lighter brown. Her dark areas are dark brown if not black...I wonder if they will fade out as much as she gets older likes yours did.

The picture of my girl is pretty accurate as far as her coloring goes...it is a very binary yellow/black with no real color gradients.

It will be interesting to see her in a year or two when she has packed on some weight!

    Here's a close up:

I am going to say that your girl will have low blushing like my male. My girl had very high blushing as a hatching and it has only gotten more extreme. My male had no blushing as a baby and only has one good blushed spot now as an adult. I like having one of each style. My female is also high yellow whereas my male is very high orange. Looks like your female is high yellow low blushing. They are all different. I am hoping for a nice blushed super pastel to hold back out of my female some day but she likes to go on hunger strikes so it may be a while. What are your plans?

Right now...let her grow up! haha! In 2014 when she will be old enough to breed I will probably find someone in my locale who has a Spider or Cinnamon and breed the 2 together to get some Bumblebees or Pewters. That's a start at least. Or...I might get addicted enough to buy my own male and start doing that haha. Maybe try to breed for a couple of rounds and end up with a Pewter Pied or something hahaha. *Shrug* no plans yet but I know I will probably start small as it is all learning experiences right now.
