    Substrate while still in QT
SO I have had my little pied girl almost 3 weeks now eating pooping great but looking like she is getting ready to shed and I am fighting humidity with the paper towel substrate I am using. So my question would it harm anything to start using the Eco Earth now. No signs of mites and she is adjusting very well. She is still very shy but I have started handling her 15-30 min daily and well she loves to watch TV at night:) just wanted to know how long mites can hide before the show up on a new snake mostly:P

If it's been 3 weeks, you're good and can ditch the paper towels. You would have noticed any signs of mites by now.

I keep my babies on paper towels for some time just so I can easily monitor urination/defecation. When shed time comes around I put half of a damp sponge in their tub until they have shed.

Sponges are awesome for humidity, they just need to be cleaned/dried fairly often to prevent bacteria growth.

From the research i have done The parasitic eggs from snake mites reproduce on a ten day cycle. This means that the eggs probably hatch within that time period. So i think your good to go :) If by any chance you turn up with mites. I have made a thread on care and correction. Check it out if your interested. http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...and-Correction
    Best of Luck!

P.s: I got your PM about the wood. So you found it? it was a nice find. I'm going to have to go look around for a nice piece as well! Thanks! :)
