Under belly heat

So I've been switching all my balls to underbelly heat with flexwatt. Was wondering what a good actual temp should the bottom of the tub be? I have a on off thermostat and it cuts off when it sits at 93. But drops to mid to high 80's till it cuts on.

I used to use a reptitemp 500r which turns on and off, they work but have to be in a room where the temps don't change or u will lose ur mind adjusting it. If the room stay at a steady temp u can set it to turn off at 92 and they will go back on at 90.5-91. Do u have a thermometer under the warm hide reading the surface on top of the UTH?

Yea. It measures the bottom of the tub on the back side of the heat. Just feel it stays off more then on.

What is your room temp? Sometimes on off types can swing the way you are describing due to slow probe response not just a longer range around the set point, This is often made worse by cool room temps as the tub cools faster than the probe and add that to a slow sample of the unit to the probe and you have a 5-10 degree swing.

Typically I'd never want to see higher than 92, 94 MAX, anywhere inside the tub. I find I loose a degree to the tub itself so I have my thermostat set for 91 and it delivers 90 inside the tub which is about what I am looking for.

This is true, that's y I got rid of my lil cheapo and everything is hooked up to a helix or herpstat.

True. I saw the BAH-1000-Thermostat from big apple herp and sounded good at first. Looks like I'll be buying a better one.

i use the bah 1000 exclusively - it works fine for a on/off tstat -
