Worried about my new Pastel.

In the few days that I have had her she has already defecated. I offered her a rat pinky yesterday and she still has not eaten it. I even tried to bag her with it after the first couple of hours in her tub with it. Still no interest in it. Can I get some help?

You should try waiting a week before trying to feed. She needs to adjust and calm down from the move.

Do you know what she was eating before? Was she eating live or f/t? Was the pinkie you offered live?

Most of the smaller few week old BPs I've gotten were feeding on hopper mice when I got them. Two of them I recently had to offer live hoppers to get them to eat. Hoppers are a lot more active than pinkie rats if you were trying a live pinkie. It can also take a little while to get them to start eating. I have one BP that wouldn't eat until her 4th week with me and then the other two I had to offer live to I've had for about 2-3 weeks now and they refused f/t hoppers twice. Double check that your husbandry is correct, leave her alone and try to feed her again in a week, and try to offer her what she was eating before you got her.

You need to have some patience and stop intervening so much. Give it a week and then offer her food again, but don't move her or bother her. You are putting her through a lot of stress and it isn't needed, she will be fine if she doesn't eat the first few times.

It's a trick you can try to get them to eat. You put them in a sealed paper bag with a rat pinkie for a little while/overnight and sometimes they will eat. It didn't work for me either when I tried it, but my girl was almost a month and a half into her hunger strike when I tried it.

I have a new little Mojave girl that would not eat for 4 weeks. I left her alone f the entire time and still a no go. I wanted her on rats like the rest of my crew but she would have nothing to do with em. I Finally offered a F/t Hopper (bcause that is what she had been given) mouse and bam...I will switch her over to rats after a few meals and weight gain...

I agree with everybody else. Just wait about 5 days and try again.
