Female to male or male to female??
Just curious as to which sex you put into the other's enclosure? I have heard it both ways and am just curious as to what the success rate is for both?

I tried to post a poll, but wouldn't work for some reason...

Most people move male to female, because the female will presumably want her own tub once she ovulates. And it's her comfort zone, so maybe she'll be less stressed and happier to mate.

I'm tending to do the reverse right now because I still only have rack space for about half my collection. And my females share the big tanks happily, while my males will start wrestling with each other staring around January or February. So the boys get their own tubs during breeding season.

So far I've put the male in the female's tub, partly because all of the (full-grown) females are in 41qt tubs - whereas some of the males are only in 28qt. Also for the reasons stated above, like the fact that it's more important for HER to be comfortable... especially if she ovulates during or right after copulation, which apparently isn't uncommon.

Male in with the female. I works either way, but as others said, the males tub is normally smaller and I have had some huge female that would be a little cramped in a smaller tub.

I have done it the other way though.

    Female into males tub.

As you can see, they really didnt seem to care.
