Aspen Shavings for small Animals
Hey Guys,
I browsing the small animal section at the pet store the other day as I needed food for my rats and I noticed a large package of aspen shavings for small animals. Its less than half the price of the aspen shavings for reptiles! I was curious as to whether there was an actual difference between the two? It didn't look any different to me, but I might not know something that you guys do. Any one have any thoughts? Here is the product information.

The only difference I've seen is that the snake Aspen is more shredded and the small animal stuff is bigger pieces.

It depends on how many snakes they have. If they only have one or two, then buying in bulk is just going to be a waste of space.

this. I have 4 right now, and in the future I plan on expanding on my collection - but prices in Canada are still really high on reptile supplies. Even when I do order in bulk for some things the prices are not even close to comparable with the USA. And shipping across the border is almost not even worth it - especially with bulk orders. To give you an Idea - 24qts of ASPEN is $20.00 @ discount here..
Rats are up to $8.00 FROZEN..@ discount!! its ridiculous... I found a guy who sells me my rats for $1.50 and coco-husk @ $15. for 10kg. I only have my guys on Aspen right now because they have mites and its easier for me to change / treat.
Cheers.
