Turns out my 2008 male fire is a STUD. I have never seen any of my other males act like this guy. He arches his back in the air and waves his tail up and down. He has already locked up twice with my female fire and he has been in the tub with a normal for about 15 minutes and is already locking up. Good start to the breeding season so far. I decided to start a little early this year since my females didnt go last year. Sorry just excited and wanted to share. thanks

Ok, so I'm gonna highjack my own thread. Heres the problem. This male tends to go off feed during breeding, in fact he quit already. Since I started him early do you think this will be a problem for him since it is early in the season? I normally dont start till nov. Or will my females possibly ovulate sooner since I started sooner? He weighs a little over a 1,000 g and didnt lose much last year even though he was off feed. I know these situations are variable but what do you think? thanks
