    Best thermostat for an icubator?
Just got my new display freezer gutted, and cleaned out. I'm ordering 4 foot of 11 inch flexwatt tommorow and maybe a thermostat. Anyone have any suggestions?

    All answers appreciated, thank you.

Herpstat or something else proportional. Lots of time, money, and care goes into getting to the point of incubating eggs. It's the most important part of breeding and successfully hatching eggs. Drives me crazy how people try to cut corners on something so important!

Yes, this is the one of the areas in BP husbandry that you can't take ANY chances with. A good proportional thermostat is a must, I use a helix for my incubator.

I agree! Don't go cheap! If the thermostat acts up, you may lose everything in the incubator! A $150 now can save you thousands down the road! A Herpstat is a great choice!

We use pretty much nothing but herpstats now, but any good proportional will do.

I think the only real option is a proportional unit. I know there are differences in menu set up and keys and options but when it come down to what matters accuracy and constant controlled temps all the proportional units are basically the same. Herpstat, helix, VE200 or 300, ecozone, habistat. (I think habistat is sold by big apple under their own rebranded name.) Pick one.
