    Large male?
Little while ago I got a ball python off kijiji and I was told it was a male. The only thing is "he" is 5feet long ( I measured). Has anyone heard of a male reaching this size? He has relatively large spurs and has a slender build with a longish tail. I have seen some females this past weekend and their tails were way stubbier. Also the person I got him from said he was eating 2 large mice every week. Would so much feeding make him larger?

2 large mice a week for an adult ball? That would seem like he was being really underfed - lots of juvis can easily take at least jumbo mice/weaned rats or larger.

What is his current weight in grams?

Snakes are just like people: some grow faster than others, some are just naturally bigger than others; they are their own unique "person" I suppose you could say. You could just have a naturally large male.

You can always have him popped or probed as well to defiantly tell you if he is indeed a he or a female.

To be honest she may have said to med rats. In my head I was trying to remember if she said 2 large rats which seemed like way alot. I'm feeding him 1 frozen rat (med) once a week. It jus seemed odd to me that he would be so long if hes indeed a male.

^ One medium rat once a week sounds right, I wouldn't see why he would need to be on 2 a week unless he's a monster (though my 2000 gram female is fine on one medium a week)

Like mentioned, he might just be a larger/longer male. Only way to tell is by getting him sexed.

I've owned 2 males that were over 2000 grams and right at 52 to 56 inches long and I know others have claimed larger than that so it's possible it's a male, but then it sounds like you'll know for sure soon.
Congrats on getting a spider :gj:

I have a big male pastel who is longer than my adult female though not as heavy at the moment. He is nearly 5 ft as well and VERY much a male.. just like people come in all shapes and stiles and just the same there is the norm and then there are the exceptions.

I also have a 2100g pastel boy. He's larger than most of my girls =P He is also very much male aggressive. He will not bite, but the second he smells another male, he starts displaying and thrashing his body around angrily.
