    Digesting XX Large Rats
Sorry for all my dumb questions. Obviously, I'm a newbie RTB owner.

How long do they typically take to digest their meals? How long 'til you handle them after feeding? Again, my experience is only with BPs.

    waltah!
I give em 2-3 days normally. It gives them time to digest and also time for feeding response to go away lol.

Yes, 2-3 days seems about right. Some boas may have a tendancy to regurge so I always wait at least 48 hours before handling. I've never had a problem and my baby is thriving and never misses a meal and has never even come close to a regurge. :gj:

What is the size of your bci that you are feeding it 2xl rats or how much does that rat weigh? My 1400 gram bci will eat 200 gram rats, sometimes 250-300 but have trouble at the hips. I leave him be for 3-4 days and he eats every 14 days. He did regurge one time because I went in to clean his cage and fresh water a day after he ate.

She's 6' long, and 7 lbs. She swallowed it in no time. I don't know how heavy the rat was, but it was definitely a full grown male rat. I'd guess it was in the 250-300 gram range rat. She never regurged it, but showed the belly lump for about 4 days. I just wondered if I needed to wait 5-6 days before handling.

A full grown rat will get 500+ grams ;) Mine shows for that long, but I feed every 14 days and handle after 2 or 3 days.

After a meal that size a 2-3 day wait is best before handling
