Where to put the UTH...

I bought a Bredli the other day. I was told the best place for the UTH is on the side of the tank since they'll spend more time up high than cuddling next to a heat source on the bottom of the enclosure, which also seems to pose a small problem for myself.

She is connected to a thermostat that half of my Balls share for their UTH control, although she is not stacked on the same stand with them with the UTH on the bottom so there is a lot more airflow. My Balls are all stacked so there is less airflow making all their temps stay in the same range as each other (between 88F-92F) rather than my Bredli's UTH which seems to stay at room temp... So with that in mind, I would have to purchase a whole new thermostat system just so I can get her temps right where they need to be. She is also housed in a tank rather than a tub like everyone else...

So, do you think glass over plastic is making my temps lower? Or do I change where the UTH should be (on bottom opposed from on the side)? Or what would you suggest for a better housing situation so my temps could be right? Obviously this is my first time owning an arboreal-like snake LOL. I just don't wanna spend the money to get another thermostat shipped over here if I can find a solution to this problem:P. Thanks!

I thought that might've been needed, I believe my description was a little bit mixed up since it is a tad hard to describe in my point-of-vew LOL.

In this photo, she is on the left side of the enclosure nearly against the glass where the UTH is located. The UTH is taped (foil/aluminum tape) to the left side of the enclosure where she is perched. If you can see, I have a purplish pink binder against the UTH to lessen the airflow around the UTH so I can get my temps right. The binder helped raise temps up a few degrees but still not where I want it.

So basically I'm asking if she would be OK with the UTH on the underside of the tank where I can get the temps regulated a lot better with less airflow, apart from the UTH being attached to the side of the enclosure where it is exposed to a lot of airflow making the heat from the UTH come and go and not being stable to suffice the correct temps.

UNLESS, if the glass of the tank is making the UTH not reach the temps to where I need it since glass is thicker, harder, and has a colder surface temp than plastic. So if that's the case, then I would need to buy a plastic tub instead of housing her in a tank.

BUT, if anyone has any other housing suggestions that works great for you I'd love to know. I generally hate using tanks for this very reason: not being able to control things easily!!

Most arboreal snakes, IMO require back heat, since tier perched most time. In a rack system back heat is best, but in custom display cages Radiant heat panel is best.

One reason i haven't jumped into GTP is not being able to use belly heat effectively to achive 88 on the perch.
