    traits vs morph?
i probably didnt search as hard as i could have on this.

i was just in the snake room and it hit me how awesome my mojo is. shes really blushed out and bright for a mojo but she's got that "blackback" look to her.

i intend to pair her with my lesser this season. his pattern is pretty standard issue for a lesser maybe a lil busier than some ppl would like.

my question is, is it possible to end up with blackback lessers or would that trait really only affect the mojo's of the clutch? given the idea that the blackback is even genetic.

i thought about it for a min and i would think yes. color and pattern fall on different alleles? maybe i dunno

or you might end up with a solid white snake with no pattern at all cause that's what mojos and lessers do when put together :P
but I'm sure it is possible to see some of her patterns in the babies that don't end up as BELs, If hers is in fact an inheritable trait and not just a random pattern that happens to look black-backish.

I'll leave out a lot of explanation to keep this short and just answer your question. Yes, if the blackback is "genetic," more than likely the lessers will be able to get the pattern.

    different loci*

and not always, enchi for instance effects both with a single allele. but there are thousands of loci, each could have an effect or color pattern or both. But I doubt the pattern has anything to do with the lesser or mojo alleles.
