Can't find snake, need advice

I have one snake, a male BCI, about 3 years old, a little over six feet. Nice guy, never hisses or bites. I handle him a few times a week with no problems.

So I take him out today and let him run around while I practice my musical instruments. And . . . . I get engrossed in what I'm doing and 20 minutes pass and I can't find him. I know he didn't get out of the big basement rec room. I think he might have crawled up inside the wall as there was a hole at the bottom of the panelling.

How do I find him if he's in the wall? I'd prefer not to tear it apart if I don't have to . . .

I left a thawed rat out for him and have been checking every ten minutes, but so far he hasn't show up.

My wife has been pretty cool about it, but we do have two young kids at home (ages 1 and 3) and we'd both like to know he's back in his enclosure . . .

Advice?

If the only place he could still be in the wall, then guess where he is. If he's eaten the past couple of days, I doubt a rat laying out would entice him any time soon. I leave it near the hole though just as a confirmation of where it's at.

You know as well as everyone else he could live in that wall for quite awhile. In the mean time double check everywhere else in the home really good, including in between sofa cushions and closets (i have large speakers collecting dust in my closet, found my bp there one day).

a boa of this size wont get in the wall very easy.

Look in heating ducts beds,closet under clothes. they dont travel very far at all.

Baby powder or flour on the floor works great to see where they are headed. Leave the room dark overnight and leave a heat pad in a corner. Check again in the morning.

Boiler room

Oh this sounds all too familiar. I just had to cut one of my BPs out of the wall a few weeks ago after he pushed his tub out of his rack.

That must have been one persistant snake.

I feel dumb for asking but what is BCI?

Boa constrictor Imperator ...I think ..., whatever it is, its a type of Boa for sure

Maybe he didn't like your music...haha.

I forgot to add, don't panic! And bring a towel. No seriously, on both those things lol. Snakes are hardy animals so he'll be fine for months with out your tender loving care, and when you continue your search, bring a towel to hold him in case he's a little dusty/dirty from his experience.
