Sexing rats.

Perhaps I am just dumb but I am having a difficult time figuring out what my 2 rats are. They are both over a month old, and I am not seeing testicles so I am assuming girls, but then again I dont really know at what age testicles drop on rats. So yeah....I can post pictures of the nether regions if that helps any:tears:

Yup pics would help. Although it pretty easy. Grab the rat butt up facing you. Allow them to grab their front paws on to something if it's a boy the testicles should bulge. If it's a girl you wont see that. Another hint girls, have 2 very close together holes and nipples. Boys farther away and no nips. If you post pics though I can tell you if you still can't tell.

You should be able to see noticeable testicles at a month old no? My boy had an obvious bulge only about a week after he opened his eyes....

You can sex them at 3 days old. The females will have obvious signs of 12 nipples. Even at a few weeks old, about 3, the boys will be identifiable. Mine are almost 5 weeks old and it is very obvious which ones are boys. If you aren't seeing any small testicles, then it's a good chance you have girls.

Alrighty, thanks all for the input. After staring at their genitals for a good 5 minutes I am almost positive that they are both girls. Good, now I just need to get a male. Thanks all.
