First Shed

My two month old ball Quentin started his shed about a week and a half ago. It's a very slow process, with him dropping little pieces at a time, progressively speeding up to the point where I held him today and when I put him down there was skin all over my hands. So everything seems to be going fine there, if anything is amiss there let me know. Also, his skin particularly along his neck is very loose and crinkly, almost like he bought his skin a few sizes to baggy. Will that dissipate during or after the shed or is it caused by something else?

Lastly a few days into his shed I noticed that although the skin seems to have shed from most of his face and head, both his eyeballs are dented, one more so then the other. Are those dented skincaps that haven't fallen off yet? I also read it could be caused by dehydration(?) although I've seen him drink a few times and I mist his cage and try and keep it within the set levels, and he has a very large water dish placed near his heater to keep it humid. It appears he is having a bad shed. I would try soaking and getting off as much as possible. The dents in the eyes could either be stuck eye caps (which is more possible since he's having a bad shed) or dehydration. Sounds like he could use a nice long soak though. Make sure the water is room temp, I just use a tupperware container with a lid and lock them in for 20 mins, leaving a crack in the lid for air. You can also try soaking a pillow case then putting the snake inside it and tying it up so the snake crawls through it. I'd be sure to double check the humidity, it sounds like there is poor humidity in the enclosure he's in. A good shed is one that comes off in one piece. Good luck :)

X2 on stuck shed our first shed went the same way with no stuck eyecaps thank goodness. Bumped our humidity to +70% and he shed his whole skin in one peice. Pics of your enclosure would be helpfull if you need help with the humidity issue

Ok so I bathed him for a good 30 minutes in some lukewarm water. It seems to have worked miracles which is good, but also bad because it means he's not getting enough humidity in his tank. I'll see if I can get some pictures up tonight. On the positive he shed most of his skin in the bath and the rest is flaking off nicely as he dries and is being handled. The dents in his eyes are gone, which is nice to say the least. Thanks for the tips. I'll see what I can do about getting that humidity raised.
