    Recessive to recessive?
    Hi all ;)

    Now, this is something I've been wondering for quite a while, but not been able to find; what do you get when you breed two recessive morphs together?
    for example, genetic stripe and albino, a 'gene-scheme' would look like this right?: (g for genetic stripe and a for albino)
    g g
    a: ag ag
    a: ag ag

    would I get a clutch of albino genetic stripes, or is it more complicated than that?

    (sorry if this has already been answered, I did run a search though,)

    They will be double het (het for both genes, like het albino het g stripe). They will all look normal.

    they will all look normal and carry the genes for both. breed the babies together and you have the possability to produce albinos, genetic stripes albino genetic stripes and normals.

    for that example you would get a clutch of visual normals that are double hets for genetic stripe and albinism. you would have to breed the siblings to each other or to another visual albino or g-stripe in order to produce visuals. unless you're breeding the same visual recessives, you will get hets. breeding two different recessive morphs together will never produce visuals of either. I'm not the best at explaining these things, so if that's not clear, I'm sure someone else can give a more detailed explanation.

    Let me take my hand at it.

    In the terms you explained, you have two snakes.

    One is albino.

    aaGG

    One is genetic stripe.

    AAgg

    Therefore when crossing them

    aaGG x AAgg

    You will get ALL AaGg, meaning they are heterozygous for both albino and g stripe as said by the others, but visual normals.
