just feed lucky & bucky im shocked
hi all, so this is the first time i ever go to feed my two BPS and they act like this, first off i go take to lid off luckys tank and i guess he knew today was feeding day he went crazy and started to bit the tanks side trying to attact me i guess well not attact but maybe he though i was food?

then i go feed bobby and right after hes done i put my hand by the tank and he goes to bit my hand but my hand was not in the tank now hes active and usally he's never like this sins hes in his new home. is this normal when feeding comes around

sorry if you think im a trol just wondering and have some questions that i need answers too

Feeding response. If they think food is coming, anything warm and moving is fair game. Tongs will save your hands.

They also stay in that mode for a little while after they eat, so that could be why you saw Bobby take a swing at you.

You're not a troll, and the only silly questions are the ones never asked. Good luck with your snakes. :)

It sounds like you have some great feeders! I also recommend tongs.

    yup, what they said...
both times tat I fed my BP i was using some kind of spatula/tongs that we don't use any longer, but I really want to try hand feeding them. I know I'll prolly get bitten, but I really want to try it anyways :D

i want to try hand feeding too some day maybe next time. how do you hand feed? i would need to hold the mouse from the tail right? this time i had both mouses in one box and one actrulyy almost ecaped because i let my sister try to drop it into the tank ..

everytime i go to feed them they eat they never missed a meal with me thats good right?

Hand feeding is a very bad idea. It's the quickest way to get bit.

i went to harbor freight and bought a long pair of their needle nose pliers.... like tongs basically.... just hold onto tail of mouse/rat and hold in front of snake... i have some snakes the sec the tub is pulled out they strike at me regardless so it keeps my hands an extra almost foot away from the food !
