    Brown spots (almost fungal/scab appearance) on my bp
    Hello i have been working away from the house for almost 5 months now and recently have had a young man taking care of my snakes i was passing through town and thought to check on them. my bp has devolped a brown textured almost fungal/ dry scab appearance bloth on her head a little smaller than a dime and on her back between the size of a quarter to loonie. now i wont be home to take her in to the vet till oct 5 and was wonder if there is any advice or at home treatment for this that i could get the young fella to do till i get home. she has stoped eating but this is not uncommon for her she has gone over 8 months before almost anually she has stoped feeding any help would be appreciated..

    Hi,

    Can you get us some nice clear pics of the problem.

    Has he tried washing it off?

    Hard to see much of a problem. Doesnt look like scale rot which you would know right away and usually is focused on the belly side

    Hello thanks for the responses, Last night i had the young fella try to wipe it off he had stated that majority of the spot on her back does scrub off. how ever there is a little bit around each scale and also he he said that there were minor divits throughout the scales and almost a frayed edge around the scale iam working on some pics as we speak.

    Hi,

    Putting the pics into the thread for you;

    I'd say she has been playing in her poop and may have scuffed her scales slightly.

    Nothing to worry about and it will be fine after her next shed. :gj:

    Thank you for the response back. So then with that said in your opion a vet check is not necasary? the young fella had told me that it seems to be slowly filling in to him getting denser in texture. i will be coming home in less then 14 days (been working 62 days straight as of today :O) and basically what i told him is to watch that it does not form into her eye ( if it is a bacteria/fungus) and then what do ya think about the frayed scales under those spots where it was?

    Hi,

    I don't think it needs a vets attention as it really does look like stuck on poop and slight abrasions caused by someone trying to rub it off while it was dry. :)

    I'd probably suggest he let her soak ( supervised) in 86f water half way up her side and then try and clean it a little more.

    Was there any sign of poop in the tank the first time he noticed it?
