    Too many to sell?
I just finished my breeding plan, a thing of beauty! Then I went back to see what I'd have to sell. Most years are a pretty good mix, but in one year I would have alot of the same thing to sell. So I came here for ideas. How many is too many of the same Morph to sell?:confuzd:

I'd guess it depends on where you live or if u can ship or not. Up here in MA not too many people have snakes compared to Florida. Also depends on the demand for the morph u have.

Depends on the morph...Pastels? Yeah...you could end up with too many...Calico's/Sugars? More = better...

If you don't market, can't ship, or have other issues one can be to many to sell. In the end it's going to depend on your drive to sell the animals and your patients to hang on to them if they don't

Don't forget quality! A quality morph will sell, lousy examples will sit unsold.

I think it depends on the morph.
Don't counts snakes before they hatch. Some of your females may not lay eggs, some babies may not be the morph you wanted, etc...

ill tell you this. i have better luck selling locally because there are not many around here that breed. i also provide the local pet store with all their balls as long as i have them to provide. if you are in tight with an owner then that will help you greatly. just remember that you must sell cheaper when selling to a pet store. also make as many friends as you can that are into snakes. you will sell more to your friends than you know. also its always nice to "give" a friend or 2 females so you can breed them or buy them back later. but if you foresee an issue now then its best to cut back your plans maybe sell some stock and invest in better stock or double and triple gene animals.
i breed strictly to make morphs i cant afford and because i enjoy breeding.
but you must be able and willing to keep everything you produce just in case you cant sell them. it can be laborious and costly if not prepared.

I plan to advertise and to ship anywhere in the country. I'll have a variety in my first season, but with my current plan, I could end up with about nine double het Pied/Clowns in my second season. I think that may be too many of anything all at once. I'll probably have to mix up my breedings so that I get no more than about three of any one thing at a time. It will slow things down, but better than having to skip a whole season because I have babies left from last season. So... keep it to three? Go for the nine? Or maybe even take the middle road at six?

haha...if you think thats a problem then i wouldnt worry....lol
if you end up with 9 pastel males then its another story. you wont have any issues getting rid of double het pied clowns.

Really? That would be great! I'd much rather leave my plan the way it is.
