These snakes are 2011 and still too small to breed. I'm starting to make plans for next year though. I was already planning on picking up a female spider and a female pastel, but I wanted to throw in a curveball too. Maybe a mojave female? What would you guys suggest?
So far planning on
bumblebee x pinstripe
Super Pastel x spider
bumblebee x pastel
possibly bumblebee x mojave?
Let me know what you think!
Let me give you some advice a breeder gave me this year. When starting a breeding roster you want to pay close attention to the market and what is going to make you money quickly at first to help you establish yourself.
Double and triple gene morphs are going to pay off big time. If you went out and bought a male fire enchi for $600.00 and bread it to a normal female your going to end up statistically with:
25% fire enchi
25% fire
25% enchi
25% normal.
If you get a double gene female than you sell off the rest and this pays your costs to bring your double gene female up to breeding age. Essentially your getting a free breeder female with a cool morph. Mind you this can take over 3 years to achieve but its an economical option for you to consider.
Cheers.
Re: First timer. Go Easy.
Personally, I'd go for the mojave (maybe because I already did!). Pastaves are gorgeous, and that opens the door for you to get into Lucies and Potions, if you choose to later on. If you want to breed your boys next year, though, maybe plan to pick up an adult normal next spring, since your females won't be ready yet. The offspring won't be as flashy, but it will get you started, and any eggs are exciting!!
Re: First timer. Go Easy.
With the bumble bee female you really dont need spider females especially with your only other male being a superpastel.... spend the money you would spend on a different morph to add to the mix a female fire, female mojave all are good ideas, but ultimatly you need to work with morphs that you like and work towards making morphs you like or come up with an idea that no one else has done

My Bumblebee is a male though. He's a beast. So is my Super Pastel. I need to establish a nice female squad now to join the pin. Thanks for the input.
