Bizarre Question

So I was handling my young BP, Pandora (of unknown gender). Pandora was being rather active like always and twisting around my hand...as I walked back to the terrarium to place her (or him?) in I noticed the belly looked pink possibly so I went to take a closer look to see if a shed was coming, it was then that I noticed about 2in from the end of the tail what looked like a open wound...it was fleshy pink and almost appeard that the 'inerds' were pushing out (swelling?)

So, freaked out, I was going to try and get a better look to see what happened, as I repositioned to look...it was gone! I could see a portion where the skin was a little bit whiter but thats it!

So my question...is Pandora a boy that got a little too...erm...excited? :rofl:

That's not silly, but no, that is not the case. Maybe his/her vent pushed back some exposing the fleshy stuff you saw.

To sex a snake you either pop or probe. Popping is where the vent is pulled back and the sex organs are pressed forward. Males have two little hemipenes that pop out, and females have...well...no hemipenes. It takes quite a bit of pressure to expose these from what I've gathered. Probing is where a professional uses a probe set, inserts them through the vent, and depending on how deep it goes in determines sex.

Yep it flexed its vent. Your lucky alot of times they crap on ya when that happens lol. But he or she is fine

I know little about the unusual happenings of the reptilian genitalia, except for the fact that male snakes have two, barbed penises. :oops:

Anyway, right around where you're describing is the cloaca. Not only are his/her genitals located there, it's also where he passes feces and urates. He could've just been getting ready to pass his bowels, but uh, you started touching his/her junk. Give him some time if you don't get an exact answer and see if he defecates when you're not around.
