Hard bump underneith BP's chin?

A couple days ago I noticed a small hard bump underneith my spider BP's chin/throat (near that crease that they have for their jaws). It was underneith the skin and I couldn't move it around, it was solid. Today when feeding I saw that it was still there. Question is, what could it be? Can snakes get warts like people can? Should I remove her from my collection and into quarentine? Is it time for a vet visit or too early to tell?

She fed today so I'll try to get picks here within a few days. I haven't changed anything in her enclosure since recieving her, her temps are spot on, she's kept in my snake room with another BP, a corn, king, and two boas, I've had her since April, and she's a late 2010 weighing in at a little over 300 grams and feeds on F/T mice. None of my other snakes are showing signs of similar bumps either.

Also, the bump doesn't cause her discomfort (that I can tell) when I touch it, it isn't red or discolored, and since seeing it a couple days ago it doesn't look like it's increased in size.

Thoughts would be awesome, I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried.

Maybe its inflammation from a piece of subtrate stuck in its mouth

I might take a peek into the mouth and check to see if I see anything but if it is getting bigger a vet is likely in order.

Its more than likely an abcess from an unnoticed injury. Like a hard strike scrape or a rat bite. If it's hard it's definately a site of infection. Sometimes they can go away on their own. Other times they need to be lanced and removed. Most times they need to be lanced and a small roun of abos given.

Thanks for the input guys: in a few days I'll take some pics and post them here and see if I can get a good look in her mouth. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it gets larger (or if it turns softer, discolored or whatnot).

For substrate though I don't use aspen: she's on paper towels so I have no idea what she could have wedged in here. If it's the site of infection she doesn't eat live so it couldn't be a rate bite and there's nothing sharp in her enclosure (two plastic hides, plastic water bowl, thermometer, paper towel substrate) so if she knocked herself on something the only thing I can think of is my plastic tongs. Could this have poked her when she struck at her F/T mice and caused that little bump?

some times they get a tooth lodged in odd places it could be that. The teeth do come out every now and again. It is just a guess only someone who has access to the snake can do better I would really think about seeing your vet.

I didn't even think about a stuck tooth, that could be it. I'll check her out closer after her tummy settles and look into a good qualified herp vet (thankfully I'm only an hour away from Phoenix and not miles and miles away from a good vet!)

Really just the tiniest little unnoticed scrape can lead to a little infection. She could have been shedding and rubbed and scraped. Or a tooth lodged or hit The tongs. I've even had a rescue that developed like a pimple on the underside of his neck. It turned into an abcess and The doc just cut it open and a rock of crap came Out. So you probably won't be able to find out the cause. What you do know Is that it's most likely not going to go away on it's own. Considering you said it was hard. Hard usually means infection. Infection doesn't go away unless removed and treated. It won't discolor or anything it'll just get bigger. I'd still give it a bit of time. It's not hurting her and not really affecting her. Watch it carefully and If it doesn't go away or it gets bigger a vet will need to be in order.
