    Credit Card Processing
For those of you that process credit cards. Which merchant account service do you choose and why.

I use the Square credit card system and love it.
They charge a flat 2.75% on all swiped credit card transactions with no monthly fees and the credit card reader itself is free.

All you do is plug credit card reader into your iPhone, iPad or android phone and launch the app, enter the amount, swipe the card and the buyer signs on the screen with their finger and a receipt/invoice is sent to the buyer through either text message or email.
You Square account keeps track of all you transactions and deposits the funds right into you bank account.

I really couldn't be happier with the system (unless the fee went down even more, although it's still pretty good compared to the alternatives).

I do not use a merchant account, merchant account require a monthly fee whether or not you process any transaction as well as a fee for each transaction which is higher thane fee I pay now with what I use.

Unless you have a huge volume in sales and the need for it, it just not worth it.

I take credit card throughout Paypal and through squares which can be done in person or over the phone.

To use square all you need is a bank account and a smart phone android or iPhone.

Ah, for over the phone/email transactions I use my Paypal account. You can receive credit cards payments through a normal paypal account, I believe paypal charges 2.9% + .30 for online credit card payments (and you can pick who pays the fee, the sender or receiver). Details here

Also I've heard paypal offers a more professional over the phone credit card merchant account service, but it has a monthly fee. Details here.
