    Hi!

As I'm the only ASF trainer I know, I think you mean my videos. This is my youtube-channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/MouseAgility

Why do you ask? Are you interested in clickertraining for asfs? :)

    Greets,

Marina! I didn't know you were on this forum! We watch your videos all the time over on mouse Lovers. Me and Ann (Mrs.Beach) love them! Ann even has some trained mice of her own!

    Good stuff!

I am a little.. No time to do it mysel but i have a friend who saw some of my asf pics. And would like one as a pet.. Explained how typically they do not make good pets but how in some situations with enough time they can be trained.

Absolutely love the idea of clicker trained ASFs!

I have done it with dogs and a rabbit ... so hopefully this will work too.

    Questions:

-What do you use as a treat?

-Any ideas for a simple trick to start with. I'm assuming your more complex ones (ie. clock the drawer) begin with a "target"? Do you use commands at all or do they respond to the stimuli alone?

    Thanks!!

Very cute!!! I taught my cow to target (clicker) train.

Makes me want to start with one of my rats Ashhamsterly.

You can clicker train nearly any animal. The smarter ones like otters are actually harder to train.

That said, those are some really astounding videos. You are obviously a master at clicker training and shaping behaviors. I'm very impressed. I'd love to train a rat or two, and seeing your videos, I may actually invest the time to actually do it soon.

    Astounding. You do awesome.

Most of them really like wafer paper (unsugared), but some will only work for living insects.
Touching a target(-stick) is a good trick to start with. Later you can use it to build up other tricks, e.g. twist or hurdle jumping.
But you can teach them almost anything, one of my bucks is currently learning to skate: http://imageshack.us/clip/my-videos/10/tgoe.mp4/
And one of my girls is learning the finger slalom: http://imageshack.us/clip/my-videos/213/fp0.mp4/
