Vb problem or poor settings?

I know in other forums that use the same platform that bp.net uses, when you have a thread you have viewed before but now contains a new post, there is a button that appears next to the thread title that allows you to open the thread and automatically go to the first unread post.

For some reason, I don't see that option here, in fact every forum here will always have every thread show up as "read" even though I know I wasn't up at 8am reading stuff >_<.

Is this a problem with the site, or did I miss a setting somewhere?

We definately have that here as it is how I read the forums most days. :)

What browser are you using? Have you tried clearing all the cookies and cache files?

Do you have the "remember me" option selected at log in?

Firefox 3, cleared all that good stuff, and have remember me on. It's even more curious cause it happens on my phone too when I use tapatalk; it's near impossible to browse the forums for what I have and have not read because everything is greyed out to begin with :confused:.

You might try updating your Firefox? I'm currently on 6.0.2.

Whatever it is, it sounds like a local issue. I can assure you, as dr del said, we do have the same "go to first unread" features as any other site.

In the past, I've had similar issues pop up out of nowhere...last for a couple of days, and then resolve themselves without me doing anything except getting confused and frustrated. I never did know what caused it or what fixed it...but it was something local and had nothing to do with the site itself.

Wish I could be more help, but other than suggesting the Firefox update, and then giving it some time to see if it resolves itself, I don't know what else to do.

I dont want to upgrade till they fix the instability compared to 3, lol. But thanks any ways, ill mess around with settings and try to figure it out.
