    How much should female rats weigh to breed?
    Just wondering how much should the females wiegh befor breeding, ive got 7females from 175 to 80gr n my males r 250 n 315. Wondering if the largest female coulg breed for me, need more food the local petstore is having shortages issues that go for month sints.

    The 175g should be fine. That's actually a decent size.

    I like for for my females to be 225 / 250 grams before I put them in rotation.

    Depends on genetics.. I have some females rats over 6 months old that only weigh in the 150g range yet drop 15 pinks. And i have some that will get huge like males..

    Normally by 4 months of age their ready, some sooner. I setup a group 2.5 months ago with smalls and they are just now dropping litters

    I have one that was saved as a crawler 2mths ago, got knocked up, and had a litter a wk ago. She was 180 grams and almost 300 when she gave birth.

    Not a correction just what I like to do. ;)

    When it comes to breeding any animal it's important to experiment and find what works for you and your animals.

    With my colony that's what I have been doing after experimenting various ways to breed my rats.

    sweet then my biggest one is getting introduced to poverotti my big male. the female is an albino n has sat around 175gr for a month.
