What the HELL SHOULD I DO?!
I have this rat pup that was supposed to be a primer for my pastel. I was trying the switching method of feeding a small item then feed a larger f/t item. BUT my pastel didnt eat the primer and now I'm stuck with this rat pup. What the hell do I do. I don't want to kill, yet I dont want to keep it. My two other snakes eat f/t and if I try to feed it to them I'm afraid that they will just want live. What SHOULD I DO WITH IT?

That happened to me this Wednesday. One of my five babies didn't eat. I put the rat pup on paper towels in a 6-qt tub with some kitten replacement milk in a small dish. It's been drinking the milk so I figure it'll stay alive until next Wednesday, in which someone will want it.

You could also just leave it in the snake cage over night and hope he takes it sometime during the night... Rat pups aren't dangerous to snakes they can't really bite or see so you don't have to worry about it chewing on your snake or anything... Also you can put it in a tubberware container and throw it in the freezer the little guy will fall asleep its a very humane way to kill mammals.

I must disagree, freezing is absolutely not a humane way to kill mammals.

I agree with Benwallage9 (in regards to leaving it in with her) - I'd leave it in there overnight.

Had a similar thing happen: brought home a new addition BP from a breeder, they gave me a rat pup to take along since the day I picked her up she was suppose to feed, she didn't take it later that day when I tried to give it to her after she got settled in, but the next day once I left her alone with it she took it no problem.
