Escaped Kenyan Sand Boa

My kenyan sand boa just escaped, she was in a 6 quart sterilite bin over heat tape with 3 others, and she wasn't there when I just checked. I looked on all the shelves of the rack, and on the ground, and everywhere I could look. She is still small, but not a baby. I got her at the Daytona expo a few weeks ago. She ate 7 or 8 pinkies since then, so she can go a while without eating. Are there any traps I can set or things to put out that she would want to go to? Someone told me to try a sticky trap made for mice. I looked for her everywhere.

Can it get out of the room?

Do NOT get a sticky trap!!!! He will die after you tear all his skin off

When mine escaped, he slipped through a hole in the wooden floor and was in a dark area on the HVAC vent in the basement directly below the hole.

Since they don't climb look in dark areas in corners, under clothes, etc

I don't know, she could probably go under the door. I will go put a towel there. The person that said to get a sticky trap said that it would come off with vegetable oil, and to use oil or it will rip the skin. I had 1.2 normals and 0.1 albino in a VERY secure bin, there is no way she could get out. I think she got out right before I put the bin back. The lid was even taped on.

It was one of the 2 female normals that escaped. She was the really calm one, and she ate all the pinkies that nobody else wanted out of my hands.

check old shoes lol i found my rat snake in a shoe I dont wear often (shoe rack is right outside my snake room).good luck with the search!

I saw something like that when they get stock on tape, but maybe they have experience with mouse traps.

I would start on one side of the room go through everything and just keep moving to the other side. I just got lucky and have no idea why I looked where I did.

lol I only own 2 shoes and I'm wearing them. She was only about six inches long or less. I don't think she could have climbed anywhere very easily.

good luck with the search maybe try setting up an easy to access sandbox or something that it would be drawn to instinctively? not sure, i dont know much about sand boas, and have no experience with an escaped snake. sorry :(

they CAN climb btw
off all my sandboa's that escaped i found them all between boxes and on the stairs going down
