weight scales?

Hey Forum.

I was curious as to which scales you guys use to weigh your BP's. I was looking at picking one up tomorrow and I'm stumped at what I should get. Any suggestions?

My local Canadian Tire ( lol ) has a 5kg "starfrit" food scale that is on sale right now for 20bucks. It got 4.5 stars in its review - has anybody used this one.

On the more expensive side I was looking at a DYMO from the staples that is classified as a shipping scale. It weighs up to 25lbs.. Is this excessive and would I be fine with a food scale??

$20 is not a bad price at all for that scale

I got mine at my local kmart it was $25 and is a postal scale that weighs in pounds and grams up to 5lbs in weight. food scales work too and they are cheaper then any reptile supply shop or online shop

I use the 7001 DX from Reptile Basics, started out with small kitchen scale but most girl maxed it out fairly quick so I upgraded.

It doesn't really matter much up to 5000gm (5kg) is usually enough there are some over that but not commonly. If you were going to sell animals I might suggest a better higher accuracy one (commercial product) so you were providing correct weights to clients but for general use any that is repeatable (place the same object on it and get the same weight over and over again) will work perfectly, if it is out a bit it doesn't matter it is a guide of how much gain or loss you are seeing.

Oh a detachable read out would be very useful if you can find one that is reasonable. If you do PM me please!! Crouching down with a flashlight is getting old.
