    Ghost vs Orange Ghost
    If you were starting out breeding which one would you go with (and don't just say both)?

    Are you referring to true ghost versus orange ghost or are you simply referring to hypo versus orange ghost?

    If you are referring to the first one they are to different mutations one (True Ghost) being a double recessive (Axanthic / Hypo) the other orange ghost being simple recessive also know as hypo.

    In the second case Hypo vs orange ghost they are the same just different lines however not all hypo lines are compatible.

    Just Hypo (true ghost trumps all, even my noob head has that one down).

    Are you saying a hypo & Orange Ghost would make some kinda hypos?....and if not, which are?

    Hypo and Orange Ghost are the same recessive morph. True Ghost would be the Axanthic/Hypo combo and that's different.
    Hypo=Ghost
    Ghost=Hypo
    I use the term Hypo to describe the recessive morph while others will use the term Ghost.

    I know about the hypo/ghost thing, but I'm confused about the Hypo.OG thing because I see things that are either het. Hypo or het. OG, which indicates to me they're diff recessive genes. Am I wrong here?

    They are the same. There are a few incompatible ghost lines but Hypo/Ghost/Orange Ghost are pretty much interchangable. Bell line, Butterscotch and a few others are I believe incompatible with the main ghost lines. Some people have claimed they are compatible but I believe they might have been misinformed when they purchased the original snakes.

    Thx. If the Orange and reg Ghost lines are interchangable I guess that answers that. Though now that brings up the question of are you gonna get an Orange tint or just the flat dulling of a reg Ghost if you breed the two?

    I was under the impression that only the F1 hypo wasnt compatible with all other hypos?

    Not from what I have been reading. There's a thread on BLBC that contains some really good info. Check the breeding section there.

    Orange ghost is simply the line of hypo that NERD originated. The orange tint has more to do with the animals used to produce the clutch than the hypo gene itself.
