    Traveling with BP
What's the best way to travel a long distance with a BP? In the wintertime? In a car? We are taking an extended vacation to see my husbands brother and I want to take Jackson with us. I am planning to take his small tank. I could board him, but I would have a hard time trusting anyone with him...
It's actually a 9 hour trip so it's not terribly long. I guess it's more like medium distance. We're going for New Years, so I have plenty of time to make arrangements or preparations with my snake. Thank you!

For the trip, you just need some heat packs...and a good place to put him. Once you're there, you'll need some kind of UTH and a thermo...as well as hide/water dish and all that. You'll also have to keep in mind that the ambient temp at the place you'll be staying may not be warm enough to provide for proper temp gradient...may want to pack a light or heat emitter or something like that? You also need to be prepared for anything unexpected...like car breaking down...how long will you be gone?

    yum...blueberrypancakes...thank you...now I'm hungry...:)

Probably don't need to say, but I will anyway...don't travel with him in the trunk...keep him in the passenger compartment. Trunk may get exhaust fumes in it...:D

He will be fine if you leave him... Just saying

But I understand you, having a BP is exciting and you don't want to leave them alone :D

Thanks y'all! Hey, Muniz, I like your new profile pic. Very epic, snakes and guitars... that's Volvagia? She is lovely...

I still haven't decided whether or not I will take him, but I am a notorious worrier...

    waltah!
Unless it's really an extended trip I'd leave him home. Personally, I'd pack him like you were shipping him if you really want to take him with you.

Yeah I assumed it would be for like a month or more when I read this. If its only a couple weeks I'd leave him as well.

Maybe a little overkill, but if you have to take him, get you a small power inverter (plugs into 12v in you car, gives you 110v to plug in home electronics) just in case you need to run a thermostat, UTH, or whatever you want.
