    Humidity jumed today?
Had my spider male in his 10g tank with a screened lid on it all night and he sat perfect at 55% humidity according to the Holmes digital thermometer(looked everywhere and couldn't find the accurite ones).

I had to clean his cage today because he pooped a few days ago and I picked it up off the mat that I had. I now switched and put him back after cleaning it up and adding cypress mulch. His humidity is now sitting at 89% according to the gauge.

The female pin we got is sitting in the exact same setup(except the repti carpet instead of cypress mulch) and her humidity is 83%.

Ive tried running the lights on both tanks for awhile and the water dishes are over on the cool sides in both. Just wondering if there is anyway to drop the humidity in them?

Also been running the lights now to try and dry it out but no luck.

It's probably reading that high because the mulch is damp. Give it a couple days under the light and it'll dry out.

Yup, I agree with Judy. When I used cypress, the stuff was pretty moist when it came straight out of the bag and would push my humidity up to 90%+ until it has a few days to dry out. Your heat lamps will probably dry it pretty quickly, so no need to worry...

    awesome.

The only reason it worried me is because the other tank has the rept carpet as its substrate and that one is at 68%.

They both jumped this afternoon for some reason.
