    Substrate question..
Okay so I've heard of people using dirt from their back yard for their monitors substrate. My question is, is that really safe? I personally buy the dirt(top soil) but if using the dirt from my own yard is an option then that would be a lot cheaper but what about parasites, bugs and things like that? I'd rather just buy it if its safer. What do you do?

So you'd rather trust anything from an unknown source put into packaging rather than use what you have on your own property and in surroundings you know and can watch daily?

For the most part I dig my own and welcome all the little creepy crawlies and soil mites that come along with it. Natures built in sanitation crew :gj:

Yup, nothing in the soil can harm your monitors; they'll either eat 'em or leave 'em to clean up!
