Ventillation holes in Sterillite tub...Help
So I got a new tub. It's a Sterillite 25 QT. I increased the number of holes ( 1/4 in dia) on the front and back of the tub. I put a smaller size water bowl in there and I still have way too much condensation on the sides of the tub and on the lid.
I just put 2 holes in the lid on the left hand side of the tub where the water bowl is .
How many holes do you guys put in your tubs to keep excess condensation down? Is it a good idea to put holes in the lid also?
The substrate is Cypress and I want to keep it damp to the touch.
It's for my Borneo.
Any ideas and tips are welcome and appreciated.
Thank you

Our room is 24/7 ceiling fan on high, holes depends on the container, I never poke any in the lid though, our shoe boxes have 5 per side on all 4 sides, the biggest of the containers may have 12-20 per side..We use a soldering iron/pencil to poke holes without the burr a bit leaves behind..The hole itself is likely 1/8th to 3/16ths big..You don't want a hole large enough that they can push any of themselves out or it may create an abrasion area..If you want to stay with the cypress cut the dampnest down, chances are you may only need to wet it each time she sheds..It is tops in holding water since it is a water born tree..;)

I bought a BIG bag of sani-chips. When I opened it up they were not the larger squares that I wanted but were the smaller flat kind. I HATE IT .......So I might give shredded aspen a try. I just can't stand looking at newspaper, so that is out of the question.
Just experimenting with substrates.

I'm confused...if you want the substrate damp to the touch, you're probably going to get condensation in the tub???

This...
you don't want it too damp to the touch all the time. Maybe just when in shed. A better question is what is the humidity reading in the tub? In the same size tub i have only 10 or so 1/4 inch holes in the front of the tub. If I get condensation I know someone spilled their water dish or took a big pee ;)

Most def gonna get condensation. But my lid was completely fogged over and much of the sides of the tub were too. The cypress is not very damp at all.
Turned ceiling fan on in my room and it is much better.
Thanks....:)

Humidity was around 87%.....so I added more holes to try to bring it down. I have to keep the humidity a little higher for her or she has bad sheds. I just didn't want that much..lol ! Thanks..
