5th Anniversary of Steve Irwin's Death
Thought I'd just make this thread to commemorate the late and still very great Steve Irwin. I can't believe it has been 5 years since his tragic passing, but his impression was deep and his love for animals still has an infectious impact on me, and I'm sure many others. I can't think of a more impactful personality or passion in the realm of wildlife television, and I still feel his presence in my life on a daily basis. I have many fond memories of growing up with his shows, and in a way he is still more real to me than many of the people I see everyday. I'll always miss him, and thought I'd share my respects in the form of this thread. Feel free to chime in with your own Steve love, whether it be a sentence or a story, or anything at all really. We miss you Steve, R.I.P.

    Cheers,
    -Matt

My wife and I are both HUGE fans of the legend Steve Irwin. He was and is a hero of ours. We have a Steve Irwin plaque that graces our bedroom that was custom made. My wife has a t-shirt and some of the books about him.

He made reptiles shine....all animals really.

A genuine good guy and a larger than life personality.

I wish that I could have met him.

He lives on in our hearts and fondest memories.

Thank you, Steve. We miss you, mate !

*Raises a toast* I'm sure he's having the time of his afterlife, getting to meet all of the reptiles that passed on before.

*Mental image of Steve Irwin catching a ride on a T-Rex*

... Yeah, I can see that.

An awesome man, and one that's sorely missed.

Ah Steve... has it really been 5 years?? :O I remember that day like it was yesterday... :tears:

The loss of the greatest advocate for reptiles in history will always be felt, and remembered. Steve was the greatest, and his enthusiasm and love for all reptiles made our job of teaching understanding and fact from fiction SO much easier.

Rest easy, mate. Your legacy lives on in all of us.

    waltah!
Steve was the best ambassador for reptiles that I've ever seen. He was charming and naturally funny so the world took to him easily and listened to what he had to say. Appearing on shows like the Tonight Show as well as his own shows opened a ton of doors for new herpers to walk through.
He was an inspiration for sure and is sorely missed.

He may have moved on, but he will live on forever in each and every one of us.
